PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION
  • Utilize technical expertise to install, test, and commission telecommunications infrastructure and equipment.
  • Field-based role requiring high standards and adherence to instructions.
  • Use testing equipment, read technical drawings, and ensure safety and environmental regulations are met.
  • Provide education, training, and support to team members and subcontractors.
 
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Ensure effective implementation of safety and environmental requirements.
  • Manage team activities to complete tasks.
  • Install, maintain, and repair various telecommunication systems.
  • Integrate network and telecommunications technology with computer systems.
  • Perform rigging works and climb structures for installations.
  • Carry out microwave installations and commissioning.
  • Work with cranes, cherry pickers, and EWP's as needed.
  • Assist in reviewing safety analysis and SWMS.
  • Develop and maintain documentation of communication policies and procedures.
  • Provide technical advice and monitor telecommunications networks.
  • Plan customer access telecommunications network infrastructure.
  • Liaise with vendors and monitor contractual obligations.
  • Provide operational support for telecommunications networks.
  • Ensure works are conducted safely, timely, and within budget.
  • Attend toolbox meetings and escalate OHSE matters.
 
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Able to lift and carry tools and equipment.
  • Able to climb and work at heights.
  • Able to work indoors and outdoors.
  • Clear communication skills.
 
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
  • Licence to perform High Risk Works
  • Tower Rescue Training
  • Working at Heights
  • Senior First Aid
  • OHS Construction Card
  • RF Awareness training
  • Current drivers licence
 
EDUCATION AND/OR WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
  • Technical knowledge of networks and client work practices.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety, Management Systems, and Environmental Management Policies.
  • Committed to excellent performance and workmanship.
  • Effective time management and ability to work in a team.
  • Well-developed interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Telecommunications.
  • Excellent computer proficiency.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines while providing exemplary customer service.
  • Ability to work independently.
